3D Autism
My Virtual World — 3D Job Training for Autism
“My Virtual World” reimagines the path to employment for autistic people through immersive, supportive, and digital-first solutions. It is a Europe-wide initiative dedicated to making the labour market more accessible, inclusive, and understanding of the unique strengths of the autistic community.
By harnessing 3D technology and virtual reality, this project provides autistic jobseekers, educators, employers, and parents with tools that foster confidence, awareness, and practical skills. It bridges the gap between training and real-world work, ensuring that those on the spectrum are not just prepared—but empowered.

Supporting VET and Educators
Vocational Education and Training (VET) is central to this project. “My Virtual World” equips VET trainers and adult educators with specialised curricula and methodologies shaped by the actual experiences of autistic individuals. Through a VR curriculum, guidelines, and practical resources, the project seeks to ensure educators understand how autism influences the job-seeking journey, enabling them to provide meaningful support.
Empowering Autistic Jobseekers
For those on the autism spectrum, “My Virtual World” offers more than digital content—it provides interactive, immersive simulations and games that help build the confidence and skills needed for interviews, workplace interactions, and sustaining employment. These virtual experiences allow individuals to explore, rehearse, and learn safely in a supportive environment.

Equipping Employers & Shaping Inclusive Practices
Employers are also part of the transformation. The project delivers resources and training to help employers better understand what autistic employees may need, how to accommodate different working styles, and how to create environments where neurodiverse talent can thrive. The goal is not only employment but sustainable, meaningful employment.
Digital Toolkit & Repository
A robust digital repository underpins the project. It includes handbooks, training materials, best practice case studies, VR applications, and guidance in multiple European languages (English, Swedish, French, Italian). These freely accessible resources are designed for educators, trainers, employers, and anyone interested in building more inclusive workplaces.

Towards Greater Inclusion and Sustainable Employment
At its heart, “My Virtual World” is about dignity, capacity, and possibility. It acknowledges that although many autistic individuals engage in VET programmes, only a small fraction secure steady employment. By tailoring digital tools, raising awareness, and aligning training with labour market needs, the project aims to shift that balance. It’s a vision of a world where autism is not a barrier to opportunity, but a part of a diverse workforce.
