Coding 4 Migrant Women

Empowering Returners with Digital Skills

Coding 4 Migrant Women supports the journey of migrant women returning to the labour market—helping them gain confidence, digital know-how, and meaningful opportunities. Through creative, hands-on approaches, the project brings together adult educators, community development workers, and migrant women returners to share, learn, and grow in fields like coding, artificial intelligence and robotics.

Non-Formal Learning that Engages & Inspires

This project believes learning should be joyful and accessible. Using non-formal education methods, workshops are designed to be fun, game-inspired, and rooted in doing—coding robots, exploring AI through playful simulations, and tackling projects that feel relevant. These learning experiences help both educators and learners see that digital skills aren’t just for tech insiders.

Supporting Adult Educators & Community Workers

Adult educators and community development workers are at the heart of lasting change. Coding 4 Migrant Women provides them with the resources, training, and methodologies they need to help migrant women returners succeed. These professionals learn how to introduce coding, AI, and robotics in ways that are clear, relevant, and sensitive to individual learners’ backgrounds.

Bridging the Skills Gap & Labour Market Realities

The world of work is changing fast—many roles today demand digital competencies that didn’t exist just a few years ago. Migrant women returning to work often face additional barriers: gaps in skills recognition, evolving technology, or simply access to affordable training. This project helps close that gap, equipping returners with the up-to-date digital and technical skills that align with current labour market demands.

Resources, Methodology & Community Legacy

A central aim of the project is to leave behind something that continues to support change. It produces a toolkit of open educational resources for adult educators—lesson plans, curriculum, guidelines—as well as a methodology for how best to implement these programmes in various community settings. There is also a strategy to encourage local and regional cooperation so that these efforts are sustainable and sensitive to context.

Towards Inclusion, Opportunity & Empowerment

At its heart, Coding 4 Migrant Women is about more than technology—it’s about dignity, choice, and recognising potential. When migrant women returners are supported with the right tools and teaching approaches, they do more than catch up—they contribute, shape their futures, and become part of inclusive, digitally enabled communities.
